10:00 AM | A visit at Watcharapol’s all-in-one shopping mall

Dressed casually, I left home and headed to the biggest department store in the area called the Fashion Island. It was established in 1995, only one year after I was born, so I can say that I grew up with this place. I frequent this mall and saw it change year after year. Fashion Island has everything that you need, with the concept that aims to provide happiness for every family. Robinson, Big C, Home Pro, Sport World, Major Cineplex, B2S, and other top brands are here too. On top of that, there are countless food and beverage choices, ranging from very popular restaurants to homemade style cuisines. No matter how often you visit Fashion Island, you’ll never get bored of the food. No need to worry about parking your car, thanks to Fashion Island’s vast parking area.

ชอปปิ้งยามสายกันที่ห้างดังย่านวัชรพล
วันนี้เราแต่งตัวแบบชิวๆและออกจากบ้านมุ่งหน้าไปยังห้างสรรพสินค้าที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในย่านวัชรพลแห่งนี้ แฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์นั่นเองค่ะ ห้างนี้สร้างขึ้นในปีพ.ศ. 2538 เด็กกว่าเราแค่ปีเดียวเองนะเนี่ย ต้องบอกก่อนเลยค่ะว่า เราเองก็โตมาพร้อมๆกับห้างนี้แหละ ได้มีโอกาสเห็นความเปลี่ยนแปลงมากมายค่ะ และสุดท้ายก็หลงรักห้างนี้เอามากๆเลย แฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์มีทุกอย่างที่คุณต้องการ ภายใต้คอนเซปต์หลักที่ต้องการมอบความสุขให้กับสมาชิกในครอบครัว ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Robinson, Big C, Home Pro, Sport World, Major Cineplex, B2S และแบรนด์ชั้นนำอีกมากมาย ถูกรวบรวมมาไว้ที่นี่ทั้งหมดเลยล่ะค่ะ ฉะนั้นไม่ว่าอยากจะซื้ออะไร แค่แวะมาที่นี่ ก็ได้ทุกอย่างกลับบ้านไปอย่างครบถ้วนแน่นอน นอกจากนี้ เรื่องอาหารการกินก็เป็นอีกหนึ่งจุดเด่นของแฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์เลยนะคะ มีร้านอาหารและเครื่องดื่มให้เลือกทานกันเพียบ ไม่ว่าเป็นร้านดังๆไปจนถึงร้านอาหารสไตล์โฮมเมด ต่อให้แวะมาที่นี่บ่อยแค่ไหน รับรองว่ายังไงซะก็ได้ทานอาหารไม่ซ้ำกันซักรอบแน่ๆ ส่วนเรื่องที่จอดรถ ไม่ต้องกังวลเลย มีลานจอดรถขนาดใหญ่รองรับค่ะ

12:00 PM | Visit Fashion Island’s romantic neighborhood

After gaining big success, Fashion Island has extended its business by coming up with another shopping center, The Promenade. It’s located just next to Fashion Island, with a path connecting the two together. What’s unique about this place is its architecture, which makes it look like the Old Town Main Street in Europe. First thing people do once they arrive here for the first time are taking photos! There’re so many beautiful spots both inside and outside The Promenade that you may want to snap great shots with. In the middle of the first floor lies a colorful, dancing fountain. You can sit and rest here once you feel tired and watch the fountain ‘dance’ while the colors are constantly changing.

แวะเยี่ยมเยือนเพื่อนบ้านที่แสนโรแมนติกของแฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์

หลังจากที่แฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์กลายเป็นห้างยอดนิยมเป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว ทางห้างก็ได้ขยายกิจการเพิ่มเติมค่ะ เป็นห้างใหม่อยู่ติดกันเลย โดยมีชื่อแบบเก๋ๆว่า The Promenade โดยทั้งสองห้างนี้ก็มีทางเชื่อมกันอยู่ด้านในค่ะ เดินชอปสองห้างกันได้สบายไม่ต้องย้ายที่จอดรถ สิ่งที่โดดเด่นและเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะของที่นี่ก็คือรูปแบบสถาปัตยกรรมและสไตล์การตกแต่ง ซึ่งทำออกมาคล้ายกับ Old Town Main Street ในยุโรปเชียวแหละ สิ่งแรกที่แนะนำให้ทำเมื่อแวะไปที่ The Promenade ก็คือรัวถ่ายรูปตามมุมต่างๆเลยค่ะ มีหลายมุมหลายจุดที่เหมาะกับการแชะภาพเก็บเป็นที่ระลึก ทั้งด้านในและด้านนอกห้างด้วย ส่วนตอนนี้ เราขอพาทุกคนไปชมอะไรเจ๋งๆในห้างนี้กันหน่อย เป็นไอเดียที่สร้างสรรค์ไม่เบาเลยค่ะ ที่ชั้นล่างของ The Promenade จะมีน้ำพุเต้นระบำหลากสีสันให้ได้ชมกันค่ะ บริเวณรอบๆก็มีที่นั่งให้ได้นั่งชิลล์กันไปพร้อมกับชมน้ำพุสีสวยเต้นระบำอย่างสนุกสนานเลยทีเดียวล่ะค่ะ

1:00 PM | Take a break with superb Mexican food

I’m guessing by this time you’re hungry already. I’ve been walking around each floor of The Promenade and finally selected to eat at Sunrise Tacos. The staff in this branch are very friendly and one of them recommended that I try the restaurant’s signature Taco Alhambres, which came in three portions, but just the right amount for single hungry person. The dish consists of flour tortillas with chicken, bacon, grilled onions, peppers, and herbs cooked on the grill. What I personally love about Sunrise Tacos is the variety of sauces they provide. My favorite is the Lalo’s Hot and Sweet, which was a perfect combination to the dish I ordered. But if you love to try something more spicy, try John’s Hot Salsa. You can also create your own Tacos by choosing soft flour, soft corn, or crunchy corn tortillas and select your desired fillings. Ask the Sunrise Tacos’ staff how to order. They’re more than willing to help!

เติมพลังด้วยอาหารเม็กซิกัน
เริ่มหิวกันหรือยังคะ? เราได้เดินสำรวจแต่ละชั้นของ The Promenade กันแล้ว และตัดสินใจพาทุกคนมาที่ร้านนี้ค่ะ Sunrise Tacos น้องๆพนักงานของสาขานี้ก็น่ารักเป็นกันเองมากๆ แล้วเขาก็แนะนำให้สั่งเมนูที่มีชื่อว่า Taco Alhambres โดยใน 1 จานจะมีทาโก้ 3 ชิ้น ซึ่งก็ถือว่าโอเคเลยค่ะสำหรับทานคนเดียว จานนี้ก็ประกอบไปด้วยแป้งตอติญ่าสไตล์เม็กซิกัน สอดไส้ไก่ เบคอน หัวหอมย่าง พริกไทย พร้อมด้วยเครื่องเทศต่างๆ สิ่งที่ชอบที่สุดของร้าน Sunrise Tacos ก็คือซอสที่มีให้เลือกทานหลากหลายแบบเลยค่ะ ส่วนตัวแล้วชอบ Lalo’s hot and sweet ที่สุด เข้ากับเมนูทาโก้ที่สั่งมาเป็นอย่างดีค่ะ แต่ถ้าชอบแบบเผ็ดๆหน่อย ก็แนะนำเป็น John’s hot salsa นะคะ รับรองว่าเผ็ดถึงใจ นอกจากนี้คุณยังสามารถครีเอททาโก้ตามแบบฉบับของคุณเองได้ตามใจชอบอีกด้วยนะ เลือกแป้งแบบที่ชอบ แล้วก็เลือกไส้ที่อยากทานค่ะ ลองถามพนักงานของทางร้านดูนะคะ ทางร้านยินดีแนะนำแน่นอนค่ะ

3:00 PM | Get relaxed at Watcharapol’s Dhamma Centre

Now, it’s time to leave the air-conditioned spaces and get closer to nature. Just about 15 minutes from The Promenade, you’ll arrive at the Sathira Dhammasathan whose founder is a recognized Buddhist Nun, Mae Chee Sansanee. The place doesn’t look like a temple, from my opinion. I rather felt like walking in a huge garden, appreciating the peaceful surroundings. When you arrive, pay respect at the shrine first and then you can walk around the place. There’s a café inside the center as well. พักกายสบายใจกันที่ธรรมสถานแห่งใหญ่ใจกลางวัชรพล
ตอนนี้ได้เวลาออกจากห้างติดแอร์ แล้วมาแวะสัมผัสธรรมชาติกันแล้วค่ะ ใช้เวลาประมาณ 15 นาทีจากแฟชั่นไอส์แลนด์ คุณก็จะเดินทางมาถึง เสถียรธรรมสถาน- ชุมชนแห่งการเรียนรู้เพื่ออยู่ร่วมกันอย่างศานติ ซึ่งผู้ก่อตั้งก็คือแม่ชีที่เป็นที่รู้จักกันดีอย่าง แม่ชีศันสนีย์ นั่นเองค่ะ จริงๆแล้วสถานที่แห่งนี้ลักษณะดูไม่เหมือนกับวัดซักเท่าไหร่ค่ะ พอเดินเข้ามาแล้วให้ความรู้สึกเหมือนกับว่าเดินอยู่ในสวนขนาดใหญ่ รายล้อมด้วยธรรมชาติและบรรยากาศสงบๆมากกว่า เมื่อเข้าไปแล้วก็อย่าลืมไปกราบไหว้สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์กันด้วยนะคะ ด้านในมีร้านกาแฟและร้านอาหารด้วย ปกติแล้ว เสถียรธรรมสถาน จะจัดกิจกรรมทางพุทธศาสนาอยู่เป็นประจำค่ะ สามารถเข้าไปติดตามข่าวสารได้ที่ http://www.sdsweb.org/ เผื่ออยากจะมาร่วมกิจกรรมไหนจะได้เตรียมตัวกันถูก แวะมาที่นี่ รับรองว่าคุณจะได้ทั้งความสุขและความสบายใจกลับไปอย่างแน่นอน

5:00 PM | Enjoy a late market stroll at Thanommit market

From Sathira Dhammasathan, just a few minutes walk and you’ll see a big market named Thanommit market. It’s the most popular market in the area and on top of that, it won the Cleanest Market Award in 2012. Early risers often come here in the morning to grab some fresh stuff home but don’t worry, if you come here late in the evening, a lot of stores are still open because the Thanommit market is actually divided into 4 zones, one for fresh meats, vegetables and fruits, one for beauty and fashion, another for old and rare goods and the other is a 24-hour outdoor food hub. The operating time for each store varies. I personally love the food zone and that’s why I’m taking you there next, as the last stop for today’s Watcharapol’s trip!

จ่ายตลาดยามเย็นกันที่ตลาดถนอมมิตร
จาก เสถียรธรรมสถาน ตรงมาอีกนิดนึงแล้วก็เลี้ยวขวาค่ะ ตรงไปอีกหน่อยแล้วก็สังเกตขวามือ จะเจอตลาดแห่งใหญ่คือ ตลาดถนอมมิตรนั่นเองค่ะ ที่นี่ถือได้ว่าเป็นตลาดยอดนิยมในย่านนี้ และยังได้รับรางวัลตลาดที่สะอาดที่สุดในปี 2555 อีกด้วย ในช่วงเช้า จะมีผู้คนมาจับจ่ายซื้อของสดกันเยอะเลยค่ะ แต่ถ้าคุณสะดวกแวะมาช่วงเย็น ก็สบายใจได้เลย เพราะว่าร้านรวงต่างๆยังคงเปิดอยู่ เนื่องจากตลาดถนอมมิตรแบ่งออกเป็น 4 โซนด้วยกัน มีโซนของสด โซนแฟชั่น โซนของเก่า แล้วก็เป็นโซนขายอาหาร 24 ชั่วโมงค่ะ แต่ละโซนก็เลยมีเวลาเปิดปิดที่ต่างกันออกไป ส่วนตัวแล้วชอบโซนอาหารเป็นพิเศษเลยค่ะ ก็เลยจะพาคุณไปที่โซนนี้กันเป็นที่สุดท้ายสำหรับทริปในวันนี้!

7:30 PM | End your day with local yummy dishes and street food

After the sun sets, I bet we’re all going hungry again. The 24-hour outdoor food zone, known in Thai as the Talad Torroong, is well-known among those who live around the Watcharapol area. It’s not easy to find available seats especially around 8 PM onwards, so you may need to wait around 10-15 minutes. There’re so many food and dessert choices you can choose from. My personal favorite has always been the Spicy Pork Noodle. The taste is ‘zaab’ and distinguishably full-flavored. Another highly recommended menu is the Pork satay, served with a toast. This dish is my family’s favorite so we often order at least 2-3 sets! Let me introduce you to my dad’s favorite, the Pan-fried crispy mussel with bean sprout. It’s very crispy and savory. Adding a sweet-chilli sauce on top is undoubtedly an awesome idea to spice the dish up. Try it for yourself!

ปิดท้ายทริปกันด้วยอาหารมื้อเด็ด
เมื่อพระอาทิตย์ตกดิน ก็ได้เวลาของกินฟินๆสิคะ! โซนอาหารที่เปิด 24 ชั่วโมงแห่งนี้เป็นที่รู้จักกันในชื่อ ตลาดโต้รุ่งนั่นเองค่ะ ขอบอกเลยว่าเป็นอะไรที่ได้รับความนิยมมากๆในย่านนี้ โดยเฉพาะช่วงหลัง 2 ทุ่มเป็นต้นไป คนจะแน่นทีเดียว บางครั้งกว่าจะได้ที่นั่งก็ต้องรอไปเกือบ 10-15 นาทีแหนะค่ะ มีอาหารและของหวานให้เลือกทานเพียบ ส่วนตัวชอบทานก๋วยเตี๋ยวหมูต้มยำที่สุดเลยค่ะ เป็นเมนูที่แซ่บมาก รสชาติกลมกล่มอยู่แล้ว ไม่ต้องปรุงอะไรเพิ่มเลย อีกหนึ่งเมนูที่อยากแนะนำให้ลองทานก็คือ หมูสะเต๊ะ เสิร์ฟคู่กับขนมปังปิ้ง เรียกได้ว่าเป็นเมนูโปรดของทุกคนในครอบครัว มาโต้รุ่งทีไร ต้องสั่งอย่างน้อย 2 หรือ 3 เซทกันเลยค่ะ! ส่วนเมนูโปรดของคุณพ่อคือหอยทอดค่ะ กรอบอร่อยมากๆ ยิ่งเติมซอสหวานๆเผ็ดๆลงไปนิดหน่อย ก็ยิ่งอร่อยเลย ลองทานกันดูนะคะว่าจะชอบเหมือนเรามั้ย
