Panda Peeks – Indus Bangkok

If you take a trip to India, one of the things that you shouldn’t miss doing is to try a variety of local Indian cuisines, known for their spices and herbs. But if you haven’t been there yet, then where can you experience the real feel of the best Indian dishes in Bangkok? We, the foodpanda team, are ready to serve you with the answer! In Sukhumvit Soi 26 is the home to Indus, a contemporary Indian cuisine that come with affordable rates!

Indus, one of the most exquisite Indian restaurants in Bangkok, offers nothing less than majestic dining in a relaxed, family orientated atmosphere. With the experience and passion for cooking, owned by their professional chef’s team, you can be assured that each of the dishes served here will definitely leave a deep impression. Their outstanding recipes have been carefully tried and tested to maintain the best flavour and quality, giving the customers a real taste of India.

When you first step in, you will be warmly welcomed by their friendly staff who will take you to your preferred table. Then, the first dish we should try is a light menu to warm up our appetite. Indus Naan is the right start! Naan is freshly baked fluffy Indian white bread. You can choose to have it plain, buttered, or with garlic or cheddar cheese. The last two are the most popular ones, but my favorite is a simple buttered naan.

Are you ready for a big meal now? Let’s order a slightly heavier menu like kebab. They offer both vegetarian kebabs such as mushroom tikka, stuffed with skewered mushrooms marinated in spices and tandoori creamy broccoli, fresh broccoli marinated in cream and spices, along with non-vegetarian kebabs. I’d recommend Indus kebab-e-Malai and chicken tikka.

The first menu is the signature dish here so it’s really a must-try. Tender chicken kebabs are marinated in yoghurt, cream, cheese, and herb, giving a balanced taste. The second popular one, chicken tikka is filled with boneless pieces of chicken marinated in a spicy yoghurt and roasted in a clay oven. Now, it’s time for the real main dish! Since Indus Bangkok serve a lot of curry dishes, we should at least try two top remarkable ones. I recommend the traditional butter chicken, boneless pieces of chicken in a rich creamy tomato gravy. The restaurant can prepare it for a mild or spicy taste, so if you don’t like very spicy dishes, don’t worry! Their chef will make it fine for you!

Let’s continue with the curry that represents the Northern part of Indian, Kashmiri rogan josh. Tender mutton curry is delicately simmered with a rich blend of Kashmiri spices. Judging by the color, the dish seems to be very spicy but once you try it yourself, your taste buds will tell you that the taste is just perfectly right! You can smell the scent of Indian spices as soon as the bowl is placed in front of you.

Now, we’ll take a short break from curry menu and switch to salad. Can you imagine what Indian salad look like? Here you go! This is an Indian-style cucumber salad. Cucumber slices are mixed with onions and other greens, and seasoned with ground spices. There’s no creamy dressing placed on top like other types of salad, but this dish has its own distinguished flavor, reflecting the taste of India.

Still want to try some more? I’ve selected chicken papad roll as your next choice! Spiced and well-seasoned chicken are stuffed inside the papad, and then turned into rolls. They are fried evenly on both sides and then immediately served to keep the taste fresh. If you enjoy eating wraps, you will fall in love with this menu.

Before stomach gets 100% full, how can we miss trying an Indian rice menu? Prawn Biryani is another signature dish served at Indus. Biryani is an Indian mixed rice dish made with spices, rice and meat or vegetables. When chubby prawns (not just one or two, but up five or six in one dish!) are added in, this menu is just too tempting to even try to resist!

We’ll finish our meal with Indian popular dessert called ras Malai, spongy paneer balls soaked in rich and creamy milk sauce. The soft and smooth cream melts your heart with every bite. The taste is outstanding and different from Western-style sweet dishes.

If you want to enjoy an authentic Indian dining experience with perfect quality dishes, there’s no need to book an airplane ticket and fly to India! Just make yourself free and stop by Indus Bangkok and you’ll find out that the authentic, yet special Indian meals are just within your reach!
